Using the ever awesome Mackinac Island tourism page, they have a section for their blog. Here is where I find invaluable information. This allows me so share guidance and ideas that I might not have thought of.
One question asked is what does it cost? Well like any vacation that can be up to you. I grew up in a large family so I find ways to cut costs without realizing I do. Depending on what you like to do – there are a lot of different activities to enjoy on Mackinac. If you want to stay on the island then a way to cut costs is go off season or during the week.
Also if you stay overnight you get to experience stuff others might not. Such as:
- movies at the Fort Mackinac
- kayak sunset and sunrise tours
- Somewhere in Time at Mission Point theatre
- Sunrise and sunset
- Nightlife on the island
