The podcast today is talking to owner of Haans 1830 Inn located on Main St. Started in 1980 with her grandfather. The story of how it all began was fascinating (tune in to hear). This historic Inn has 9 unique rooms with fine antiques and many guest amenities along with island touches.

Close to St Anne’s church- Haans is a great location as it is not too far from downtown. Here is an exert from their webpage to give you some back story:
After visiting England’s Lake District, Vernon and Joyce Haan decided to bring European bed and breakfast charm to their remodel project on Mackinac Island. Once the restoration of the home was completed, Vernon and Joyce opened “Haan Cottage” as a bed and breakfast in 1980. Using their love of antiques, Vernon and Joyce decorated the home in period furnishings and decor, completing the feel that a guest was escaping to the past. In 1988, Vernon and Joyce’s son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Nancy Haan transitioned into the innkeeping management for almost 30 years. Now managed by Shannon and Lucas Westblade, Nick and Nancy’s daughter, Haan’s 1830 Inn continues in its third generation of family owner/operator-ship. Welcome to our beloved home! We are so happy you are joining us.
