Day 1 on Mackinac Island

We arrived in Mackinaw City and made the 2 pm ferry on Starline. It was a cloudy outside but we missed any rain. Once on the island- we paid a dock porter to take our stuff to Mackinac House. Our room was ready upon arrival.

Guest services was so incredibly friendly and helpful when we got in. Continental breakfast along with afternoon snacks are available daily. While it is a boutique hotel it has a cozy feeling of a B&B. Love our room and location is perfection. http://www.themackinachouse.com

We ventured over to the Pink Pony for so afternoon appetizers. Pretzels and whitefish fingers hit the spot. Then we decided to head to the Grand Hotel. On the way we stopped in fudge shops for samples. There is a fun game I play to find my favorite fudge- in a previous blog post.

Once we got to the Grand Hotel I wanted to share the Secret Garden but they had cut it all down (understandable with the weather) so we decided a drink at the Cupola Bar was needed. I swear they have the best margarita- probably because they put Grand Marnier in it.

We then came back to the room. On Wednesday night a bad thunderstorm happened back home and my dog was up half the night (same for my friend) so we were tired. Went to Doud’s Market for some grub to bring back and eat in the room. It was a night of non stop laughter. Now ready to hit the island. Stay tuned 💜
