My name is Heather. I live in Elkhart, Indiana. I am a hairstylist of 25 years (wowza) I first started going to Mackinac Island in 1999 when a friend got married. Only a few weeks prior to that wedding I found out a movie I loved since I was little was filmed there. Yes I’m talking “Somewhere in Time”. So upon my first visit I was captivated.

Eventually girls weekend trips started happening there. Staying over on the island was so different than not. Island House was the first place I stayed at. We did a catamaran ride around the island- rented tandems- and fell in love with the Islander Bean Dip at Horn’s!!

Soon I started looking into different places to stay with each visit. Obsessed with learning all I could while visiting. Definitely utilized the travel bureau page for guidance http://www.mackinacisland.org

Anyone who truly knows me knows my love of the island. I feel honored when someone asks me about visiting and any tips I can offer them. That’s what started the blog and podcast. It is still a learning game but I love it!!
