I always said if I wasn’t a hairstylist I would totally work at a library. The smell and infinite about of books 📚. So naturally I have to pay respects to the cutest library. Located on Main St as you turn the corner headed to the school. It’s Tiffany style color draws you in.
Open Tuesday- Saturday 11-4 closed Sunday & Monday. The inside is so charming and cozy. The inside boasts a sitting area with a fireplace to tuck you in with a good read. The outside view allows you to see the incoming ferries and lighthouse. Staff is friendly and welcoming with their island knowledge.
The Rosa Webb Room holds the Mackinac Collection, a historic assemblage of information about Michigan and the Michlimackinac area. This room is named in honor of one of the Grand Women in Mackinac Island history.
One of my favorite things about this building is the little sitting area located out the back doors. If library is closed or if you don’t want to go in there is a side path that will take you back there. With a few Adirondack chairs I love almost hiding back here. I have seen people doing yoga & sunbathing back there. It’s a quiet area that allows you to just breath in the water in front of you.
Be sure to stop on for a book, island info or a relaxing atmosphere to just breath. http://mackinacislandlibrary.org
