So I love ice cream. When I head to the island I look forward to indulging in this special treat. Some might wonder why this when fudge is the staple food. But what makes this more special here is the fudge made on the island is added to the ice cream 🍨 yes please.

Today I am going to tell you about my favorite shop to get this frozen treat. Sadie’s ice cream shop located at the Grand Hotel. This shop is the quintessential ice cream parlor. With cafe tables and benches outside the shop for you to sit and enjoy the traffic going in and out of the Grand. While you have to pay a 10.00 admission to visit the Grand Hotel if you aren’t a guest BUT you don’t have to pay to go in the shop.

In 2013, Sadie’s Ice Cream Parlor was named after Sadie, owned by hotel Chairman R.D. Musser Jr. and his wife, Amelia. Sadie was awarded “Best in Show” at the 2010 Westminster Dog Show.

They feature Hudsonville ice cream with up to 24 flavors as well as milkshakes, sundaes, banana splits, chocolate hand-dipped cones, mini Grand Pecan balls on a stick, and a special Grand Sundae built to share.

They allow you to sample the ice cream flavors which helps. It is hard to decide which one you might want or even the other options. I tend to go with Mackinac island fudge or Moose Tracks. Yes I love chocolate. Here is a picture of the flavors to chose.

What’s great about treating g yourself here is that you are walking or biking so you burn off the yumminess pretty fast. Then you can get more.
